So please CLICK HERE and vote for your favorite wine shop. You can just pretend it's practice for November. Let me briefly make our case:
1. you can tell by some of the extremely ugly labels in our shop that we don't earmark wines just because of packaging 2. those of you that shop at our store regularly know we are all about CHANGE.... we have new wines coming in the door every day 3. our store is the son of a millworker
That is all.....VOTE COWINECO IN SEPTEMBER!!!

Auntie Em's Farmers Market Dinner! - Wednesday, September 17th
Auntie Em's is back in the saddle with another lovely Farmers Market Dinner. What is that? Well, you look at the menu below, you call them to make a reservation, and on your way to the dinner, you stop by CoWineCo for our specially paired wines with each course. Be quick! These dinners sell out fast.
The Menu
First Course Heirloom Tomato, Moroccan Carrot and Toasted Bread Salad with Avocado and Arugula WINE PAIRING: A dry, crisp white would pair really well with the tomatos and arugula. Try our Ponte de Lima Vinho Verde ($9.99) Also for a weightier white that would be great with this dish and the Veggie Curry entrée, our Condes de Albarei Albarino ($14.99) has a dense, lemony flavor that would offset the spice of the curry and complement the basmati rice.
Second Course Medjool Dates Wrapped in Pancetta and Stuffed with Blue Cheese WINE PAIRING: For the date dish, as always, we love a big, brut bubbly with something that has rich, savory and sweet components. Try our Parigot & Richard, an all-Chardonnay brut bubbly from Burgundy with notes of almonds, yeast and a creamy yet dry finish ($24.99 ). For a red option, try something richer to compete with all those flavors – our Mill Creek Merlot at $20.99 is great – structured, velvety and robust. Or a big California blend, such as our Prisoner for $31.99 or the Fess Parker Frontier Red at $9.99 would work with this and some of the other dishes.
Entree Organic Summer Vegetable Curry with Organic Spiced Yogurt and Chutney over Basmati Rice WINE PAIRING: For the Vegetable Curry, try a spicy white, like our dry California gewürztraminer Claiborne and Churchill, a favorite foodie white of ours for $17.99, or a zingy Italian white like our Fattoria Laila Verdicchio at $12.99. A nice red option is a lighter red like a Pinot -- our O’Reilly’s from Oregon at $18.99 is great, or a German red, like the Klostor Pinot Noir, a bit more tangy, at $8.99.
or
Smoked Paprika and Beer Braised Pork Stew with Chickpeas and Gremolata WINE PAIRING: For the Pork Stew, whether you choose red or white, it needs to be a bit more robust. We suggest our Pago Florentino Tempranillo ($20.99 ), or our Porcupine Ridge South African
If you’d like to pair a white with the stew – try our Schofitt Chasselas from Alcace – its creamy touch of fruit and clean big finish will stand up to the weight of this dish. It’s a really interesting white and a staff favorite at $20.99. Or you could also have a big beer with this dinner – try our Saison Dupont Brune at $10.99 .
or
Lamb Tagine over Basmati Rice WINE PAIRING: Our St. Damien Gigondas, a medium-weight, juicy blend from the
Cheese Course Artisanal Cheeses
Dessert Pastry Chef's Choice
$32 PER PERSON
Children's Menu We can make a child's portion of any of the above with a very special dessert. $8 PER CHILD (This menu is subject to change according to market availability.)
Reservations There will be two seatings: the first at 6:30, to which we encourage you bring the babies & kids; the second at 8:30. 9/11
Today is the 7th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks and a lot of memories come back... Jen and a handful of our dearest friends were all in Manhattan at the time, while me and a friend watched from our rooftop in Brooklyn...people crying in line at payphones as they get bad news...watching the towers fall on tv, and hearing them at the same time out our window. But even more indelible memories stick with me....an American flag painted on the rooftop of the brownstone building across the street for the medivac helicopters to see as they flew over Brooklyn....the sidewalks slick with candlewax from all the late night vigils for our fallen firefighters and police....the courtesy and kindness everyone showed each other on the subways and sidewalks for months after 9/11. Which leads me to the reason we mention this in our newsletter...stop a moment....think about that day....think about all the people who lost their loved ones....and be a little nicer to everyone around you.

See You Soon, John and Jen
