May Old Acquaintance Be Not Forgot

Siiiilent Niiiight, Hooooly....yay another sweater!!...POP!...may ooooold acquaintance beeee ...ZZZzzzzzzz.  That's about how fast the holidays went by for us.  Wow.  As we wrap up our second Christmas season and approach CoWineCo's second birthday in February, we are reminded how lucky we are to be able to do this for a living.  From the bottom of our hearts, thanks to all of you for supporting us in 2006.  We're looking forward to finding (and drinking) hundreds of new wines for your dinner table in 2007.  Here's our top 5 list of the most under-priced wines added to CoWineCo in 2006:

1.  Chateau Caraguilhes Corbieres Red, France

2.  Montpellier Viognier, California

3.  Blacksmith Chenin Blanc, California

4.  Kenneth Volk Cabernet Sauvignon, California

5.  La Vielle Ferme Luberon White, France

Disagree?  Send us your favorite CoWineCo selections of 2006 and we'll publish the top 5 customer selections in the next newsletter.

Alan Griswold is back with a new art show hanging on the CoWineCo walls from now through February.  Though we just hung them in the first week of December, almost half of his paintings already sold!  Monkeys and wine: two great tastes that apparently taste great together.  So, Alan added a few more selections to the walls and we're excited for the official opening on the 20th.  For more information on The Monkey Show and the artist himself, click here.

We have learned after arranging close to 100 tastings thus far in our short existence that there is always a holiday somewhere to celebrate by tipping a glass of wine.  This Friday, for all you Discordianists, it's Mung Day.  Which, as we all know, celebrates the Discordianist apostle, Hung Mung. Discordianism is a modern, chaos-based religion founded in either 1958 or 1959. It has been described as both an elaborate joke disguised as a religion, and as a religion disguised as an elaborate joke. Some of its followers make the claim that it is "a religion disguised as a joke disguised as a religion."  We're just going to avoid any controversy and adopt it as a reason to do another wine tasting.

Tonight we are pouring some old favorites including a rich Lodi zinfandel, a monastrell from Spain, a chenin blanc from Dry Creek, a sparkling Cava from Spain, and a red tempranillo from Rioja, Spain.

wines

Avinyo Cava, Penedes, Spain

Dry Creek Chenin Blanc, California

Hecula Red, Yecla, Spain

Conde de Valdemar Crianza Rioja, Spain

See You Soon,

John and Jen
