Snoop Through Other People's Homes, Odysseus Paella, and Not Von-Steuben Day

Snoop Through Other People's Homes, Odysseus Paella, and Not Von-Steuben Day

Ok, this week's newsletter is going to be a wee bit abbreviated as we have lots going on at CoWineCo and in lovely, little Eagle Rock.

ITEM #1:   Our " Bring Your Butler " high-end wine tasting tonight (Thursday) is sold out!   If you didn't sign-up but still want to come in for a glass of wine, please join us at the tables at the front of the store from 4-9pm.

ITEM #2:   This Saturday is Eagle Rock's annual music festival from 5pm to midnight where we'll be pouring wines by the glass as always.  CoWineCo will be situated immediately in front of one of the stages so come early to get a spot!  Colorado Boulevard will be closed to cars from 3pm on into the night so please find street parking or try to get a spot in our parking lot behind the store.  On Saturday, the only way to access our parking lot is by heading north on Maywood to the east of the store and making a left into the alley beside the car repair shop.

ITEM#3: The The Eagle Rock Association's 2006 Eclectic Eagle Rock Home Tour is here again and CoWineCo is proudly selling tickets in our store.  The cost is $15 for TERA members and $20 for non-members and takes place Sunday, October 14th from 10am-4pm.  Stop in and grab one before they're gone!

ITEM#4: Bistro 45 Paella Dinner with Odysseus Winery Owner, Jose Puig!  For those of you that were lucky enough to make CoWineCo's Odysseus Wine Tasting with Jose earlier this year, you know how superb these wines are.  Well, add on the fact that Jose is in town again, taking over Bistro 45's kitchen, and making his world-famous paella to go with his own wines, and you have a night that shouldn't be missed (we'll be there sipping, eating, and taking wine orders).  There's only 40 spots so reserve right away! (Bistro 45s newsletter already went out this week so spots may be gone by the weekend).

RSVP to: Bistro 45, 626-795-2478 or bistro45@earthlink.net

Here are the particulars:

Bistro 45

This Friday is German-American Day (not to be confused with Von-Steuben Day...that's on September 17th) and, as always, we're celebrating at CoWineCo.  What do you do on German-American day?  We're not exactly sure what OTHERS do, but what we usually do is pour a bunch of wines that aren't from Germany, periodically throughout the night toast something German (like leather pants or the word ''gesundheit"), then go back to our wines.  Feel free to break out into song.  That's ok, too.
