Napa Valley Girls, Your Shipping Has Come In, and Tapas Can You Hear Me?Our first announcement : this newsletter will now be sent every two weeks rather than weekly because the holidays get busy and every other week I need time to take a shower.
Our second announcement : this Sunday's tasting will include Tapas paired with the wines so please, please RSVP so we get an idea of how many folks are showing up. It's gonna be a good one.
In the service of puns, for better or for worse, we have run the following paragraph through the Valley Girl translator on www.80s.com . Napa Valley Girls Napa Valley is totally what the world thinks of first when considering the United States wine market. It so put California on the map. In the early 1940's, a group of vintners came together to share ideas on grape growing and winemaking amidst a rad atmosphere of their best buds, bitchin' food and wine... Sooo, like, this group totally founded Napa Valley Vintners, a trade organization massively into advancing Napa Valley's wines both in the US of A and across the pond. So today more than 260 wineries in Napa Valley are jamming (as are the tasting fees, bummer.) Sooo, like, this Friday at our tasting we're celebrating some small Napa wineries that totally have made big impacts on our tastebuds.
Wine Tasting Schedule
Napa Valley Tasting This Friday the 23rd 5:30 - 8:30pm $15/person 5 wines, cheeses, breads, crackers Reservations recommended: info@cowineco.com or (323) 478-1985 The wines for Friday's tasting are all from Napa Valley wineries you may not have heard of. The Molnar Family Chardonnay is just the family's 2nd release of Chardonnay and it's just as outstanding as the first one (the first was named "Molnar Blaise" Chardonnay -- some of you fell in love with it at our store). It's a great example of how oak can be used to increase the complexity of wine rather than dumb it down. Wines Mason Sauvignon Blanc 2003, Napa Valley, California Whitford Chardonnay 2002, Napa Valley, California Molnar Family Chardonnay 2004, Napa Valley, California Emily Elizabeth Merlot 2002, Napa Valley, California Calistoga Cellars Zinfandel 2002, Napa Valley, California

Ants in Your Fancy Pants Tasting Next Friday the 30th 5:30-8:30pm $15/person 5 wines, cheeses, crackers, breads Reservations recommended: info@cowineco.com or (323) 478-1985 Many of you have come in needing a nice bottle of wine for your boss, someone who did you a big favor, or for a birthday, and then looked worried when we said we only carried wines $25 and under. It's a fair worry but we're tasting 20-40 wines a week to find that wine that tastes like it costs $50 but only costs you $20. So this tasting is dedicated to those high-end (at least relatively high-end) fancy wines that are sure to impress. Wines Mosbacher Sauvignon Blanc 2004, Pfalz, Germany Sinnean Gewurztraminer 2004, Oregon (This week's LATimes 'Wine of the Week') Costa De Oro Pinot Noir 2002, Santa Maria Valley, California Cazar Syrah 2002, Sonoma Coast, California Foxen Cabernet Sauvignon 2001, Santa Barbara, California
I've Arrived Next Sunday the 2nd 1:00-4:00pm $10/person 4 wines, cheeses, crackers, breads At this Sunday tasting we'll be pouring new arrivals and new vintages of old favorites. Check back next week on our calendar website to see the wine picks --> www.cowineco.com/calendar
Your Shipping Has Come In So, many of you have asked if we ship wine and we've said, "Not yet, but we should be in a couple weeks." Well, we were apparently lying. But now we're NOT lying. We can ship wine now. We swear. Honest. Here are the states we can currently ship to:
California
Colorado
Shipping Costs are only estimated and the exact amount will be determined based on location and exact weight:
1 bottle: $8-$10 2-3 bottles: $12-$15 4-6 bottles: $15-$20 7-12 bottles: $20-$30
We can ship to Hawaii too, but the shipping prices are higher because we're jealous and tax you for living in such a pretty place. Other states will be coming in the future, but for now, these are the only states that don't require additional permits, fees, and your first born child to ship there.
