![]() ![]() | ![]() Newsletter ArchiveMake the Pi Higher and April Showers Due to the fact that the propietors really needed a couple days away this week and then, consequently, fell far behind in their wine store duties, this newsletter will be mini, small, pequeno, slight. But hopefully, packed with twice the love as is usual.

April Showers
Just to stay on your radar, in April we will be holding our annual rose tasting AND the long-awaited Sake tasting that so many of you have asked about. Yes, we can't call that one annual since we skipped last year, but we promise these new selections will make up for any gap in your sake-loving experience. Watch for dates and times in our next newsletter

Regular Wine Tasting Schedule
*** We hold tastings twice a week on Friday nights and Sunday afternoons , and on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays the bar is open for wines by the glass . Please see our calendar for details on any given day: www.cowineco.com/calendar ***
Wine Tasting: Make the Pi Higher Friday the 14th...tonight! 5:30-8:30pm (wines by the glass also available from 4:00 to 11pm) $15/person 5 wines and gourmet cheeses from Auntie Em's Marketplace Please RSVP to: info@cowineco.com or (323) 478-1985 Wow, so it's amazing how fast the year goes by...it's already international Pi day again? You know...March 14th...3/14...like the mathematical constant we all know, love, and forgot a long time ago. A few things you should know: apparently MIT often mails out their acceptance letters on Pi Day, there's quite a Second Life celebration somewhere inside the tubes of the interweb, the first Pi day was celebrated in San Francisco in 1988 where many people (i doubt the 'many' part) marched around in circular spaces then consumed fruit pies, and finally, CoWineCo celebrated Pi Day in 2008 by pouring 3.14 wines + 1.86. Why that extra 1.86? Because we love you. wines Weinreider Gruner Veltliner, Austria Jalama Pinot Gris, Santa Ynez Valley, California Hilltop Craftsman Cabernet Franc, Hungary Latria Monstant Red, Spain Pago de Valdoneje Mencia, Spain
Lazy Sunday Tasting Sunday the 2nd 1-4pm $12/person 4 wines and gourmet cheeses from Auntie Em's Marketplace Our Sunday tastings will now feature slightly higher-end wine selections. Our Friday tastings get a little too loud to discuss the wines in great detail (we're not complaining), so if wine knowledge is your grail, Sundays are the best tastings for you. (323) 478-1985 or info@cowineco.com wines Leon Beyer Pinot Gris, Alsace, France Schmelz Gruner Veltliner, Austria (2 reds TBD - please email or call on Sunday morning for more info)

See You Soon, John and Jen
They caught A shark, not THE shark. Big difference. Not the shark that killed Chrissie Watkins... and probably not the shark that killed the little boy... which I wanted to prove today, by cutting the shark open... [sees the Chief pouring the wine he brought] you know, you oughta let that breathe a little [sees the massive glass the Chief has poured] - nothing, nothing! ~ Richard Dreyfuss "Hooper", Jaws 1975 |
