Eric just has a way of writing about wine so that you learn a great deal every post, but aren't made to feel stupid in the process. My least favorite wine blogs are the ones that suggest that you live in a hole in the ground if you haven't already heard of the Blah Blah Estate Reserve Whammo Cabernet from Doctor whatshisname. What? Oh my god! I haven't spend $80 on the new cult wine!!! I must be one big ass!
Alright, rant done. Have suggestions for other wine blogs? Let us know. Leave a comment I like the wine blogging event Wine Blogging Wednesday, founded by LennDevours http://lennthompson.typepad.com/ and hosted by a different food/wine blog every month. It gives you the opportunity to try something new, write about your impressions, then read all the other posts. A couple months ago the theme was Biodynamic wines. This month's theme is Regular vs. Reserve, hosted by The Wine Cask: http://winecask.blogspot.com/2007/03/wine-blogging-wednesday-32-april-11.html April 4, 2007 12:28 PM Another great wine blog was recently brought to my attention (and not just because they are nice to our store) ---> http://www.goodwineunder20.blogspot.com/They chronicle their best finds under $20 and do it in an unpretentious, informative way. I'm a fan of www.3wineguys.com. (I subscribe to the podcast.) They take kind of a Howard Stern approach to wine... Which is strange, because I don't like Howard Stern. But these guys are informative, entertaining, and vehemently unpretentious, and somehow I remember the wines better when they're sandwiched between expletives and belching.
