Friday Wine Tasting: Organic In a Box Friday, March 12th 5:30 - 8:30 pm $15/person for 5 wines + artisanal cheeses from Auntie Em's You have to respect the folks at Y&B. Using tetrapak, they keep 93% of the product wine, with only 7% going to packaging. Their environmental footprint is only 54% of a normal wine when you consider the glass and cork and the weight associated with it. Take all that and add in that the wine is great and it's $9.99 and you have yourself your new house white. Moving on, tonight we also have one of our old favorites, The Font-Mars Picpoul with the dinosaurs on the label. Great wine + dinosaurs = always a good thing. And the new '08 CDR from Grand Bois --- the '07 sold out in a matter of weeks last year. And finally, one of the new best sellers in the last couple of weeks, The Ardales Tempranillo....fully organic, rich, earthy, spicy. And finally, Food and Wine Magazine's Winemaker of the Year, Charles Smith, and his Merlot out of Washington. wines Y & B Organic Sauvignon Blanc (in a box!), Chile Font-Mars Picpoul White, France Domaine Grand Bois Cotes du Rhone 2008, France Charles Smith Velvet Devil, Washington Ardales Tempranillo, Spain
