So, while we don't feel it is appropriate to CELEBRATE this, it is worth noting that Edgar Allan Poe married his 13 year old cousin on this day 172 years ago.  I wonder why he wrote lucid, creepy stories?  Huh....have no idea.  LOVE the fact that you can buy action figures of the whole thing though.  Ok, so we won't raise a glass to that necessarily, but while that's in the back of our heads, we can toast to a true hero.... Salazar Doyle Edmunds, who on this day 49 years ago decided that he wanted to live with the jaguars in central Belize both to show he could survive and to draw attention to their dwindling population.  Of course, he died within three days, but is still hailed as a hero in San Ignacio to this day.  A small parade (possibly the tiniest parade in the existence) is held on a small street where participants don jaguar pelts (ironic, i know) and dance around a man in the center until they pounce on him while fireworks are set off. 

Annnnnywaaaaay....here's to jaguars, not marrying your underage cousin, and Salazar!
